This is a large, busy festival and we are a very small team – so if you have some spare time and would like to help in any way – then we’d love to hear from you! We’re a very friendly team!We need help both during year (the all important planning and preparation stage) and also over the festival weekend. We are looking for people who are passionate about all aspects of real food – from supporting our local producers and businesses, to food education, seasonality and food sustainability, and also those who, like us, want to foster a sense of community and local pride giving Weston super Mare a positive identity as a significant foodie destination.
Please email us if you are able to help and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
The Festival features large indoor and outdoor artisan food markets. We operate a strict selection policy and pride ourselves on featuring the best of West Country food. We give priority to local producers but also welcome specialist producers from across the UK. If you have a high quality product we’d love to hear from you.
We also feature an on site Edible Festival Garden so include a handful of environmental charities with a particular link to food and farming, seed merchants, herb nurseries and a limited number of other businesses related to conservation, gardening and growing.

Why not use the festival to support your Healthy School programme?
The festival is admission free and we are ensuring that children’s interests are firmly placed at the heart of the festival. The festival weekend will offer a whole range of food experiences including an action packed programme of food themed activities for children of all ages. As well the browsing, tasting and shopping experience in our indoor and outdoor markets there will be cookery workshops, art and Lego activities, i Pad animation, challenges and educational food games.
Whether or not your school is already involved in food projects and healthy eating initiatives there are lots of ways that your school can get involved in the run up to the festival. The festival can act as a focus for existing food projects and offers a perfect opportunity to get parents involved too. Teachers interested in new ideas to get their class interested and talking about food can find lots of project ideas and resources on the Food for Life website www.foodforlife.org.uk
If your school has a cookery club or gardening club, or a school dinner menu you are particularly proud of, why not let us know about it and we’ll feature it on our website.
